Whether you are traveling to San Francisco or Singapore, always let First National Bank of Northfield know about your travel plans. Because debit cards are directly tied to your bank account, they pose a special risk. At First National, your debit card includes fraud protection capability and alerts that could kick in if we see unusual activity on your card. Here’s what you can do to make sure things keep running smoothly while you travel.
- Before you head out on the road, come into the bank or call our main number (507.645.5656) to tell us when and where you’ll be traveling.
- It’s always a good idea to carry an extra credit card when you travel, just in case!
- If you DO get a fraud alert call about unusual activity while you are traveling, be sure to return the call as soon as you are able. You should feel free to confirm any information they provide, but DO NOT volunteer any personal information other than your name to the caller.
- If your First National issued debit OR credit cards are lost or stolen, call First National as soon as you can. You should also call one of the major credit bureaus such as Experian (888.397.3742) or Equifax (888.766.0008) to report potential fraud. They’re open 24 hours.
Enjoy your journey knowing we’re here for you. Safe travels!
