Protecting your privacy is important to First National Bank of Northfield and our employees. We want you to understand what information we collect and how we use it. In order to provide our customers with a broad range of financial products and services as effectively and conveniently as possible, we use technology to manage and maintain customer information. The following policy serves as a standard for all First National Bank of Northfield employees for collection, use, retention, and security of nonpublic information.

What Information We Collect
We may collect “nonpublic personal information” about you from the following sources:
- Information we receive from you on applications or other loan and account forms;
- Information about your transactions with us or others; and
- Information we receive from third parties such as credit bureaus.
“Nonpublic personal information” is nonpublic personal information about you that we obtain in connection with providing a financial product or service to you. For example, nonpublic personal financial information includes information regarding your account balance, payment history, and overdraft history.
What Information We Disclose
We are permitted under law to disclose nonpublic personal information about you to other third parties in certain circumstances. For example, we may disclose nonpublic personal information about you to third parties to assist us in servicing your loan or account with us, to government entities in response to subpoenas, and to credit bureaus. We do not disclose any nonpublic personal information about you to anyone, except as permitted by law.
If you decide to close your account(s) or become an inactive customer, we will continue to adhere to the privacy policies and practices described in this notice.
Our Security Procedures
We also take steps to safeguard customer information. We restrict access to your personal and account information to those employees who need to know that information to provide products or services to you. Employees who violate these standards will be subject to disciplinary measures. We maintain physical, electronic, and procedural safeguards that comply with federal standards to guard nonpublic personal information.
Funds Available Policy
It is the policy of First National Bank of Northfield to make funds from customer deposits to transaction accounts available on the day following the day the deposit is received. Electronic direct deposits will be available on the day the deposit is received. Once the funds are available, the depositor may withdraw the funds in cash or the funds can be used to pay outstanding checks.
In some cases, the Bank will not make the funds the customer deposits by check available on the day following the day the deposit is received. Depending on the type of check deposited, all funds may not be available until the second (2nd) business day after the day of deposit.
In some circumstances, the Bank may delay funds availability for a longer period. Special rules apply to new accounts, opened less than 31 days. Funds will be available no later than allowed by the current regulation.
For determining the availability of deposits, every day is a business day, except Saturdays, Sundays, and federal holidays.
If a deposit is made before 6:00 p.m. on a business day that the Bank is open, the Bank will consider that day to be the day of deposit. However, if a deposit is made after 6:00 p.m. on a business day, on a Saturday, on a federal holiday, or on a day that the Bank is not open, the Bank will consider that deposit was made on the next business day the bank is open.
Email messages from First National Bank of Northfield will address you by name or by the name of the business associated with First National Bank of Northfield. We will not send email messages with a generic greeting such as “Dear Customer.”
It is First National Bank of Northfield’s policy to never ask you to provide personal information via unsolicited email. Email fraud consists of con artists illegally using a bank’s logo and website format to send emails asking individuals for personal information. It is important that you know First National Bank of Northfield does NOT authorize these types of emails, nor will we do so in the future. We do not send unsolicited email messages with directions to download attachments or software programs. We may, however, send emails with links to other sites that we know will be beneficial to you. The bank will only send you an email with an attachment in response to your personal request for such an attachment, and the attachments will be sent via secure email, if applicable. If you receive an unsolicited email requesting such information, do not provide any personal information. If you have ever been asked to provide such information in the past or are asked to in the future, please contact one of our offices.
