First National Bank of Northfield, the longtime cornerstone of Northfield’s banking community, has announced seven officer promotions for 2018. The bank also announced that its Vice President of Business Development Rick Estenson has been named Business Person of the Year by the Northfield Area Chamber of Commerce.

Estenson has been with First National Bank of Northfield for nearly 14 years. While he has held a number of roles, his focus has been in business and community development. Estenson has worked to bring new customers and opportunities to the bank and has served as a liaison to the board of directors and the bank’s shareholders.

Over the years, Estenson has been involved in many organizations in the community, including the Northfield Area Chamber of Commerce, the Northfield Historical Society, the Northfield School Board and more. He is currently on the board for the American Center for Philanthropy, a member of the Northfield Rotary and involved in many other organizations in the community.

“I made the move to Northfield because of our desire to be part of a healthy, growing community,” Estenson said. “I think so highly of this community and the people that have made it work. I look at the list of names for Business Person of the Year and to be thrown in with them is truly an honor.”

First National Bank President Tim Viere said, “No one is more deserving of this award from the Northfield Area Chamber. Rick has worked hard at First National Bank and in the Northfield community. We’re elated that he is being recognized for this honor.”

The Northfield Area Chamber of Commerce will celebrate the Business Person of the Year at its Annual Meeting and Business Recognition Banquet on Wednesday, January 24 at the Grand Event Center in Northfield.
