Starting in April, First National Bank will begin issuing new chip-enabled debit cards. Chip-enabled cards offer added security and are the safest debit cards available. A chip-enabled card:
- Works everywhere MasterCard and Visa is accepted.
- Offers another layer of protection against data theft when used at a chip-enabled terminal.
- Provides access to banking services in over 130 countries.
- Is available through a variety of cards that will match your particular needs.
When to Expect Your Card’s Arrival
All new cards will be chip-enabled. For existing cardholders, we’ll begin issuing cards two months out; for example, if your debit card expires in June, you’ll get your new chip-enabled card two months prior in April.
Every First National Bank debit card holder will have a chip-enabled card within about nine months. If you have a special need to receive a chip-enabled card sooner, please contact us. We will be happy to accommodate you.
To activate your personal or business debit card, or to set or change your PIN, call: 800-992-3808.
Using Your New Card
Knowing your new card’s PIN is very important when using it at a credit card terminal that is chip-ready. When you are ready to pay, insert your new debit card into the terminal, and it will ask you for your PIN. This extra step adds an additional layer of protection to each transaction you make.
