Free Document Destruction this Saturday, April 30th

First National Bank of Northfield invites you to save the dates for its 2016 document destruction events.

  • Saturday, April 30th
  • Saturday, September 24th

The event will take place from 9 a.m. to noon at the bank’s South location.

Shredded filesDuring this event, customers are encouraged to bring confidential documents to the bank’s South location, 1611 Honey Locust Drive in Northfield, for secure, on-site destruction and recycling.

Recycling important documents responsibly is a great way to protect yourself from identity theft. Items to consider for safe destruction: old bank statements, tax returns, canceled checks, financial statements, legal records, credit card statements, old receipts and confidential documents.

Added Protection

In light of many high-profile security breaches, we encourage customers to take advantage of these free events. Additional steps that should be taken to further protect yourself from identity theft include:

  • Signing up for credit monitoring – your first three months are free. After that, it’s just $5 per month for critical monthly account details and restoration services in the event that your personal information is compromised.
