First National customers are reminded to exercise caution when giving out financial information. A new phone scam where the caller claims to be from the IRS informs victims that they owe taxes and must pay using a pre-paid debit card or wire transfer. The scammer’s techniques are often quite convincing, however, it should be noted that the IRS will never ask for payment using a pre-paid debit card or wire transfer. Read more on the IRS website.
